It's Sunday!

Today our family is getting together to celebrate Daughter's 31st birthday.  The actual date of birth was May 20, 1979.  Daughter requested grilled chicken, home made potato salad (none of this Sam's Club potato salad for her, please), a lettuce salad and a birthday cake.  "Surprise me.", she said, when asked what kind of cake.  So oatmeal cake, it is.  Actually, she knows what kind of cake she's getting because I made one for work earlier this week and when I mentioned it to her, she said that sounded good and that she hadn't had one of those in a long time.  Anyway, in addition to those menu items, Son and Daughter-in-law are bringing corn on the cob and chips.  It's bound to be a tasty feast.

So my day has been busy.  It began with a trip to a donut shop with Hubby for breakfast, followed by CBS's Sunday Morning show.  Hubby went to work and then my chores began.  I've washed dishes twice, done three loads of sheets and kitchen towels and hung two loads on the line, baked an oatmeal cake, wrapped a couple of presents for the Daughter, gone to the Club for lunch with Hubby and washed the sliding glass doors to our back deck.  My back is telling me it's not used to that kind of work out.  When I finish here, I'm headed out to get the sheets and towels off the line, will fold those and then put my feet up and watch what's left, if anything, of the Royal's baseball game.

The real fun will begin when the kids arrive.  Son and Son-in-law are grilling the chicken while the ladies push the granddaughter in her new swing GamPa hung from our tree yesterday.  What a nice ending to the weekend.

UPDATE:  It was a great evening, but Granddaughter didn't make it to the swing.  *sigh*  We were too busy getting dinner on and watching the season finale of "LOST".
