The Achilles tendon surgery is over and the mending has begun. Hubby survived the procedure and the doctor said it went "real well". We (I say that like couples say "We are pregnant.".) are now in day six of the six to eight weeks of non-weight bearing recovery. My how time flies when you're throwing up after anesthesia, laying around in bed with your foot propped up higher than your heart, hobbling around with a walker, taking the patient his every meal, giving bed baths, assisting with undergarments wrapped around the ankles, and grumbling at each other because you hate being a pain in the other's side. It's times like this that I think Hubby's choice of wedding bands was prophetic. Unknown to him lo those 35 years ago, the word "Devotion" is inscribed in each band.
Well, I kinda like the bed baths...
