Daughter had me go to the OBGYN with her this afternoon as her husband was in class. Their baby is due sometime between May 13 and 25 and they are now in their weekly doctor visits. The baby's heartbeat was strong today and all is well except for two things: Daughter's blood pressure was a little high and her measurements made the doctor wonder about the size of the baby. So next Wednesday there is another sonogram scheduled just before her doctor visit. Daughter really does not want a caesarean birth. She knows the recovery is longer, which would mean more time off work, and a longer stay in the hospital, which is more expensive. She also remembers her brother's wife after her c-section. She wasn't able to pick up or walk with the baby for a couple of weeks. That's not fun when you have a brand new baby to love and get to know. Everything will be fine.
Hubby goes in the hospital for surgery on his Achilles tendon tomorrow afternoon. He has to arrive at 1:00 to get checked in and prepped. The surgery is to begin at 3:00. Hubby is anxious to get it done so his foot feels better and he can walk on it again. However, he won't be able to bear weight on that foot for six to eight weeks. I'm hoping he'll feel better, too, but I'm dreading the recovery period. It's hard on both of us. Luckily, we'll have Son here to help. I hope he can cook!
