This past Sunday afternoon was allocated for baking some Christmas sugar cookies with Sugar and Daughter. I had mixed the dough a few days before, so all that was needed was to roll out the dough with a little flour on the board...
| Sugar was starting to run a fever, but it didn't stop her from her baking duties. |
followed by cutting out with some cheap-o cookie cutters and some of my Grandma's Christmas cookie cutters...
| Daughter joined us for the fun. Her cookies were much prettier than mine. | |
and decorating with food-colored egg "paint", sugars and fancy sprinkles all in the favorite holly, jolly hues of red and green.
| Painting the cookies included making gashes in them with the bristles. Oh, well...we were after a fun afternoon. Not perfect cookies. | | |
After all of our hard work...
| Sugar really got into her work. There was flour on her eyelid, her arms and the back of her shirt. |
the cookies went on the baking sheet and into the oven.
| Look at that little face! She was so proud of her cookies. |
Ta Da! Here is the finished product. What a fun day!
| Take a close look at those cookies. Sugar went a little crazy with the cookie cutting process and gave the sugar a good shake on Santa. They are adorable and delicious! | | | | | |
Very cute and the cookies were so tasty! Well done!
